By Daniel A. Moore
On November 28, 2009, Alabama brought an 11-0 record and a #2 national ranking into Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium. Auburn grabbed the momentum in the first quarter and held a 21-20 lead with 8:27 left in the game. Greg McElroy took the Tide 75 yards down to the Auburn 4, eating up nearly 7 minutes of clock. He then completed a pass to Roy Upchurch in the end zone and consummated what will forever be known as "The Drive."
Now, on the easel of legendary Alabama artist Daneil Moore his latest masterwork, 'The Drive', is coming to life. This expressive painting in oils portrays the seminal moment as Upchurch securely grabs the ball, and the victory, from the night sky on the plains of Auburn. The 26-21 win kept alive Alabama's hopes for an undefeated dream season and a 13th National Championship.
'The Drive' will be the fourth print in 'The Greatest Season Ever' suite of five artist-signed limited editions.
